Zoo Adventure: Let’s go on a pretend trip to the zoo! Gather some toy animals or draw pictures of animals that you might find in a zoo. As you play, say the name of each animal and listen for the Z sound. Can you find a zebra or a gazelle? Try to make the Z sound as you say their names. What other animals can you think of that have the Z sound?
Zippy Zippers: Find a jacket or a bag with a zipper. Practice zipping it up and down while saying “zip, zip!” each time you move the zipper. Can you think of other things that have zippers? Try to find them around your house and practice using the Z sound as you zip them.
Z Sound Hunt: Go on a sound hunt around your home or classroom. Look for objects that start with the Z sound. You might find a picture of a zebra, a zipper on a backpack, or even a zucchini in the kitchen. Make a list or draw pictures of the things you find. How many Z sounds can you discover?
