  • Can you think of a time when you visited one of these places in the city? What did you do there, and what was your favorite part of the visit?
  • If you could create a new place in the city, what would it be and why? What fun things would people be able to do there?
  • Imagine you are going on an adventure with your family to explore the city. Which three places would you like to visit first, and what would you do at each place?
  1. City Scavenger Hunt: With the help of an adult, go on a mini scavenger hunt in your neighborhood or city. Try to find as many places from the list as you can. Take a picture or draw a picture of each place you find. Can you spot a pharmacy, supermarket, or a restaurant? Share your findings with your class or family!

  2. Create Your Own City Map: Use paper and crayons to draw a map of your imaginary city. Include some of the places you learned about, like a theater, gas station, and mall. Add streets and give names to your places. What would you name your city? Share your map with a friend and explain why you chose to include each place.

  3. Role-Playing Game: With your friends or family, play a role-playing game where each person pretends to work at one of the places in the city. One person can be a waiter at a restaurant, another a cashier at a supermarket, and someone else a pilot at the airport. Act out a day in the life of your character. What do they do? How do they help people in the city?
