Hello friends! I’m Willy Wood, and today we’re going to learn about vegetables. Are you ready to join me on this fun adventure?

Why Are Vegetables Important?

Vegetables are super important because they help our bodies stay strong and healthy. We should eat five pieces of fruits and vegetables every day. Let’s start learning about some yummy vegetables!

Meet the Vegetables!

Spinach

This is spinach! You can eat it raw or cooked. Spinach is so delicious! Can you say it with me? Spinach!

Eggplant

Look at this purple vegetable. It’s an eggplant! Eggplants are fun to say and eat. Say it with me: Eggplant!

Lettuce

Do you know this one? It’s lettuce! Lettuce is great in salads. Say it with me: Lettuce!

Artichoke

This is an artichoke! Artichokes are so good. Can you say it with me? Artichoke!

Carrot

Here’s a long, orange vegetable. It’s a carrot! Carrots are rich in vitamin A. Say it with me: Carrot!

Green Beans

I love these! They are green beans! Green beans are really healthy. Say it with me: Green beans!

Pepper

This vegetable can be red, green, or yellow. It’s a pepper! Have you tried one? Say it with me: Pepper!

Cauliflower

Take a picture or draw a picture of the vegetables you find. Share your discoveries with your friends or family and talk about how each vegetable looks and feels.

  2. Vegetable Taste Test: With the help of an adult, try tasting some of the vegetables we talked about. Can you try spinach, carrots, or broccoli? Close your eyes and see if you can guess which vegetable you’re tasting. Talk about which ones you like the most and why. Do they taste sweet, crunchy, or maybe a little spicy?

  3. Draw Your Favorite Vegetable: Pick your favorite vegetable from the ones we learned about and draw it. Use lots of colors to make it look just like the real thing. Once you’re done, share your drawing with your friends or family and tell them why it’s your favorite. Is it because of its color, shape, or taste?
