Writing Numbers

Number One

Let’s start with number one. It’s just a straight line down. Easy peasy!

Number Two

For number two, make a curve and then a straight line to the right. Great job!

Number Three

Number three is made with two small curves. Can you do it? Yes, you can!

Number Four

Draw a line down, then another across, and finish with a line down. That’s number four!

Number Five

Start with a straight line to the left, go down, and add a curve. That’s number five!

Number Six

Begin with a curve going down and finish with a little circle. What number is this? It’s six!

Number Seven

Draw a straight line down and a small one across. That’s number seven!

Number Eight

Make a small curve, then another, and go up. This is number eight!

Number Nine

Start with a straight line down, then add a circle to the right. That’s number nine!

Now you know how to write numbers! Great work!

Writing Letters

Capital Letters

Let’s start with big letters. Draw a straight line down, then another across. Good job!

Lowercase Letters

For small letters, make a circle and add a little tail. You did it!

Try writing at home with a pen and paper. It’s super fun!

Writing “Me”

Let’s write the word “me.” Start with a big letter: draw a line down, then another across. Now for the small letter: start here, go down, then up and turn to the right. Yay!

More Letters

For more big letters, draw four lines: one long line down, another across, one in the center, and the last one down. For small letters, draw a short line, then start your circle.

Keep practicing, and soon you’ll know the whole alphabet!

If you enjoyed learning with me, keep practicing and have fun writing!

  • What is your favorite number to write, and why do you like it? Can you show us how you write it?
  • Have you ever tried writing letters or numbers in a fun way, like using colorful pens or drawing them in the sand? What did you use, and how did it feel?
  • Can you think of a word that starts with the same letter as your name? How would you write that letter? Let’s try writing it together!
  • Number and Letter Hunt: Go on a number and letter hunt around your home or classroom. Look for numbers and letters on books, clocks, and signs. Can you find all the numbers from one to nine? How many different letters can you spot? Try writing them down as you find them!

  • Shape and Trace: Use playdough to create the shapes of numbers and letters. Roll the playdough into long snakes and form them into the numbers one to nine and some of your favorite letters. After making each shape, trace over them with your finger and say the number or letter out loud.

  • Story Time with Numbers and Letters: Create a short story using numbers and letters. For example, “Once upon a time, the number three met the letter A. They decided to go on an adventure together.” Draw pictures to go along with your story and share it with a friend or family member.
