Recap

We learned about these feelings today: happiness, sadness, fear, anger, disgust, and surprise. That was all about emotions, friends! I hope you had fun learning. See you next time!

  • Can you think of a time when you felt really happy or excited? What happened, and who were you with?
  • Have you ever felt scared or afraid of something? What was it, and how did you feel better?
  • What do you do when you feel angry or upset? Are there any special ways you calm down or feel better?
  1. Emotion Charades: Gather your friends or family and play a game of charades using the emotions we learned about. Take turns acting out one of the emotions without using words, and see if others can guess which emotion you are showing. This will help you recognize and understand different emotions by observing facial expressions and body language.

  2. Emotion Journal: Create your own emotion journal. Each day, draw a picture of something that made you feel happy, sad, scared, angry, disgusted, or surprised. Write a sentence or two about why you felt that way. This will help you think about your feelings and understand what causes them.

  3. Emotion Hunt: Go on an emotion hunt around your home or school. Look for pictures in books, magazines, or even on TV that show people experiencing different emotions. When you find one, point it out and say what emotion you think the person is feeling. This activity will help you practice identifying emotions in others.
