Hey there! Are you ready to have some fun? Welcome to the Scratch Create Along! This is a special time where we all come together to make cool projects using Scratch. Scratch is a fun way to create your own stories, games, and animations on the computer. Whether you’ve been here before or it’s your first time, I’m super excited to have you join us!
Scratch Create Along is a weekly event where everyone in the Scratch community can join in to create something amazing. It’s a time for kids, parents, teachers, and anyone who loves to create to come together. Even if we’re far apart, we can feel connected by making projects together. Isn’t that awesome?
Anyone can join the Scratch Create Along! If you’re a kid who loves to create, a parent who wants to join in the fun, or a teacher looking for a cool activity for your students, this is for you. Last week, we even had a whole class join us, which was super cool!
Today, we’re going to make some amazing projects together. First, we’ll take a look at some of the awesome projects people made last week. Then, I’ll share a new idea or prompt for this week’s project. After that, we’ll have plenty of time to work on our projects together.
While we’re creating, you can ask me any questions you have. Maybe you need help with your project or want some new ideas. Feel free to send in your questions, and I’ll do my best to answer them. I’ll also share some tips to help you make your project even better!
Now that you know what we’re doing, let’s get started! Grab your computer, open Scratch, and let’s create something amazing together. Remember, the most important thing is to have fun and let your imagination run wild. Happy creating!
Story Swap: Pair up with a friend or family member and create a short story together using Scratch. Each person can take turns adding a character or scene. Once your story is complete, share it with each other and discuss what you liked about each other’s contributions. This activity helps you understand how collaboration can enhance creativity.
Scratch Scavenger Hunt: Explore the Scratch website and find three projects that inspire you. Write down what you like about each project and think about how you can incorporate similar ideas into your own project. This will help you learn from others and apply new techniques to your creations.
Observation Walk: Take a walk around your neighborhood or school and observe your surroundings. Look for interesting objects, animals, or people that could be characters or settings in a Scratch story. When you return, use your observations to create a new project in Scratch. This will encourage you to draw inspiration from the world around you.

Are we live? I believe, if I’m not mistaken, we are live. Welcome, everybody, to the third Scratch Create Along! I’m so excited to have you here again. I’ll wait a few minutes before starting to let anyone join, as I know people often join a few minutes in. But hello to the early birds—it’s really nice to have you!
If you’ve been here before, welcome back! If this is your first Create Along, I’m so glad you could make it. Let me tell you a little bit about what the Create Along is. The Scratch team thought it would be nice to have an hour every week where we can feel connected, especially when we’re all separated. This is a time for everyone in the Scratch community—scratchers, parents, families, educators, and caregivers—to come together and make a project.
So, that’s the idea of this hour: to create projects together. Thank you for sharing this time with me! If you’re joining just now, welcome to the Scratch Create Along. This activity is something that scratchers can do on their own, and if you are a parent or caregiver, you can do this with the scratchers in your house. Educators can also use this as an activity with their students. I think last week we had a class join, which was so cool!
This could also be an activity for educators to do, giving you ideas for things to do with your students. It’s great to see how people have been using this in various ways.
Now, let me tell you about the plan for today. We will gather and create projects together. First, I will take a look at the projects people made last week, which I was really excited to share. Then, I will share the prompt for this week, and after that, we’ll have plenty of time to work on our projects together.
During this time, feel free to send in any questions you have through the link provided, and I will do my best to answer as many as I can. I’ll be answering questions, sharing tips, and you can ask about project ideas or anything else that comes to mind.
