Colors Are Fun!

Hello, friends! Today, we’re going to learn about colors. Are you ready to have some fun with us?

Meet the Primary Colors

There are three special colors called primary colors. Let’s meet them!

  • Cyan Blue: I’m a great color!
  • Yellow: I’m the most beautiful color of all!
  • Magenta: I’m the coolest of them all!

These primary colors are super important because we can use them to make all the other colors!

Mixing Colors to Make New Friends

Now, let’s mix our primary colors to make new colors, called secondary colors. Are you excited?

Mixing Yellow and Magenta

When we mix yellow and magenta, we get a new color friend. Can you guess what it is?

It’s Red! Welcome, Red! We’re so happy to have you as a friend!

Mixing Yellow and Cyan Blue

Next, let’s mix yellow and cyan blue. What color do you think we’ll get?

It’s Green! Hello, Green! We’re glad you’re here!

Mixing Cyan Blue and Magenta

Finally, let’s mix cyan blue and magenta. What color will we make?

It’s Cobalt Blue! Wow, Cobalt Blue, you look amazing!

Our Colorful Friends

Now we have all our secondary color friends: Red, Green, and Cobalt Blue. We made them by mixing our primary colors: Cyan Blue, Magenta, and Yellow.

Isn’t it fun to see how colors can mix and create new friends? We hope you enjoyed learning about colors with us!

Keep exploring and discovering more about colors. They’re everywhere, and they make our world so beautiful!

  • What is your favorite color, and why do you like it so much? Can you find something around you that is in your favorite color?
  • Have you ever mixed colors while painting or drawing? What new colors did you create, and how did it make you feel?
  • Can you think of a time when you saw a rainbow or lots of colors together? How did it make you feel, and what did you notice about the colors?
  1. Color Mixing Experiment: Let’s have some fun with colors! Gather some watercolors or food coloring in the primary colors: cyan blue, yellow, and magenta. Use small cups of water and mix different combinations of these colors to see what new colors you can create. Can you make red, green, and cobalt blue? Try mixing other amounts to see if you can make even more colors!

  2. Color Hunt: Go on a color hunt around your home or classroom. Look for objects that match the primary and secondary colors we learned about: cyan blue, yellow, magenta, red, green, and cobalt blue. How many items can you find for each color? Share your findings with your friends or family!

  3. Color Story Time: Create a story using the colors as characters. For example, “Once upon a time, Cyan Blue and Magenta went on an adventure and met their new friend, Cobalt Blue.” Draw pictures to go along with your story. How do the colors feel? What do they do together? Share your colorful story with the class!
